Irish hip-hop band Kneecap made a bold statement at this year’s Coachella music festival, using their platform to highlight the ongoing conflict in Gaza. During their Saturday performance, the Belfast-based trio projected messages criticizing Israel’s actions in Palestine, declaring “Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people” on the big screen.

Lead rapper Mo Chara led the crowd in a chant of “Free Palestine,” continuing the group’s vocal stance on the issue. This comes just a week after the band claimed their previous livestream was censored for similar pro-Palestinian messaging.

Kneecap is not alone in their protest. Other artists at the festival, including Green Day and Blonde Redhead, have also shown support for Palestinians through modified lyrics and onstage displays of solidarity.
